Starmap: Star Map Customizer ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard information when you use our Shopify app.

Information We Collect Through Shopify's APIs

When you install and use our app, we access the following data through Shopify's APIs:

• Store information: Your Shopify store domain, store name, and admin access token (required for app functionality).
• Product data: Product and variant information to manage star map products created through the app.
• Order data: Order details (order number, line items, customer shipping address) for orders containing star map products, used to generate custom poster files.

Information We Collect Directly from Merchants

• App configuration: Design settings, color schemes, font selections, shape preferences, and pricing configurations you set up in the app admin panel.

Information We Collect from Merchants' Customers

• Design customization data: Location (city/coordinates), date, time, text messages, and design preferences (colors, fonts, shapes, backgrounds) entered by customers when customizing their star maps on the storefront.
• Uploaded images: If a customer uploads a custom background image, that file is stored on our servers.

We do not use cookies or tracking technologies on merchants' storefronts. We do not track customer browsing behavior.

How We Use Information

• To generate custom star map poster files (PDF/JPG) based on customer designs.
• To process usage-based billing for orders containing star map products.
• To display order history and design data within the app admin panel.
• To provide the storefront customizer experience for merchants' customers.

We do not use collected information for any purposes other than providing our app's services as described above.

Data Storage and Processing

Design data and generated poster files are stored on our secure servers. App configuration is stored in Shopify app metafields within your store. Data is processed and stored on servers located in the European Union / India.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, rent, or share your personal data or your customers' data with third parties. Data is only used for the purposes described above. We may use third-party infrastructure providers (cloud hosting) to store and process data, but these providers do not have independent access to your data.

Data Retention

Order and design data is retained for as long as you have the app installed. Upon app uninstallation, all associated data (including generated files, order records, and design configurations) will be deleted within 48 hours of receiving Shopify's shop/redact webhook, unless otherwise required by law.

GDPR and Privacy Rights

We comply with applicable privacy laws including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), and other applicable data protection regulations.

You and your customers have the right to:

• Request access to personal data we hold.
• Request correction of inaccurate personal data.
• Request deletion of personal data.
• Withdraw consent for data processing.

We respond to all data subject requests received through Shopify's mandatory compliance webhooks (customers/data_request, customers/redact, shop/redact).

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify merchants of any material changes through the app admin panel or via email.
